Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 49

Only because I’m looking forward to the Wonder Woman movie. Kits Beach is stunning this weekend.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 49
Dear Cake, Brownies, Fries, Coke, Chips, Beer, Ice Cream and pretty much any Carbohydrate,

It’s tough to write this letter, but I woke up this morning after a wonderful night and I realized it’s not you (well maybe a bit) but it’s really me. Or, more specifically, my brain chemistry. This relationship is so one-sided. I really suspect this time away from each other is best for both of us. (However, my real suspicion is that all you foodstuffs won’t care at all.)

But I care. I don’t want to be suffering some kind of event and thinking “I guess they were right about weight and sugar and carbs” when some poor paramedic is applying a defibrillator to my chest.

So this toxic relationship has to end for a while. Maybe we can catch up for a bit later. Just remember it’s not personal; it’s chemical.

Early inklings of the Wonder Woman movie are good. Someone told me it was going to be warm in Huntsville this weekend.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 47
OK, this is getting stupid. Please mail me all carbs possible. There may be a shortage of cheap, tasty carbs and I’ll have to buy more and more until I explode like some kind of Mr. Creosote.

And I missed another blog entry. Two diet sheets although the word diet seems misplaced here.

I have the bike. I will ride the long way around.

However, break through. I can now go bowling and not have anywhere near as much tightness and pain in my back.

Good thing there was beer there. Holy cow, what would I have done?

I’d still like to know what neuro chemical process convinces me to feel like I better eat all the pizza and chocolate there is at any given moment because it might run out.

I have this comic. I need a beach so let’s go to Wasaga Beach.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 45
I’ve been frustrated before. Surely by now when projects go weird I should be ho-hum about it.

I’m going home soon to make a cake. I was given the gift of cycling today. Time to take advantage of it.

The To Do List is too big.

Spider people always make me feel better.
    So does Tofino.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 44
Hi. I won’t tell you how dumb my day is going.

I do have a personal trainer workout which hopefully will mitigate some stress.

It is really the time to break things into short pieces and try to remain calm.

Those kettle bells and Bulgarian bags don’t stand a chance.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 43

I needed Spider people to cheer me up. I’ll let you know on Wednesday how my son did in a times table test.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 43
Trainwrecks are us. First time ever I missed a post. There was a busy weekend coupled with the need to do a heroic effort for the day job on the weekend. Dietary madness. Speaking of mad, now I’m really mad. No gym. No yoga. No common sense eating at all. Mad, really mad.

Today, so far not terrible. I didn’t have bacon and eggs because it got too late last night to make them.

One problem: cheesecake. There’s a birthday in the house this week.

Honestly. I am such a dope.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 41

In honour of Mother’s Day, here’s Sue Richards, the Invisible Woman. She trashes this guy two panels later. I just spoke with a client in Qualicum Beach.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 41
OK, I saw Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 last night and it was a lot of fun. I ate bad food. Clearly my train wreck continues.

I’ve also taking an involuntary break from the gym. Work issues and a ton of family obligations have made a hash of my time. However, it’s nice to feel some of the sore areas heal up. I just have to watch posture.

It’s also Mother’s Day tomorrow. I am unprepared and we are on the move a lot. I need ideas.

  • Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 40

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 40

Classic Guardians of the Galaxy with the Silver Age Defenders. I’m thinking Banff today.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 40
Today is a nut bar day with project deadlines.

Nut bars. Chocolate nut bars. Good idea.

I did not work out yesterday and I got a thank you note from my legs. I did move some heavy bookcases around. Does that count?

We’ll see what happens today. More nuts to deal with.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 39

I was looking for Spider-man and Dr. Strange and found this. Let’s visit Cowichan Bay near a riding that has a 9 vote difference between 1st and 2nd place.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 39
It’s rare that you actually want a rainy day. My legs are killing me from riding the bike. I’m expecting my body to adapt with a few more days of regular riding.

Mood, particularly a “blue” mood, really impacts one’s eating decisions. I believe this to be wildly underestimated in the diet/fitness industry. For example, you have a more efficient workout if you are happy about going. If you feel like bottom of a shoe after walking through an off leash dog park you won’t have the same results.

Second is schedule. Mine went pie-shaped yesterday and my eating issues didn’t lead to pie, but it did lead to carbs.

Third is fatigue, mental or otherwise. That led to cookies which is carbs and sugar in a glorious combo. I barely remember doing it.

Oh if I only had the resolve of a superhero.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 38

Medusa and Spider-man. I think I own that comic. Let’s visit Victoria BC where there will be no government for a while as they recount ballots.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 38
I blame the freak show BC Election for the collapse of the diet part of this process yesterday. (As good an excuse as any.) I did got to the personal trainer which was good. But I’ve been riding 3 days in a row and today’s yoga class was brutal.

My crystal ball was fuzzy on the BC Election — and now I know why — but ibuprofen; that’s showing in my crystal ball quite clearly.

  • Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 37

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 37

Rocket Raccoon and Spider-man. Time to go to Winnipeg.

Mutant Diet Phase 3 Day 37
It’s good that the weather is finally cooperating. It’ll be interesting to see how I feel after riding two days in a row with a personal trainer session thrown in the mix.

The diet is slow to improve but I’m realizing more and more that the mental state is a larger impact on impulse control. When you feel bummed, overwhelmed or nervous, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that you go for the so-called comfort food. I think your body knows it will get a hit from sugar more than from salad.

Today is the provincial election in BC. Go vote like you mean it.
