Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 18

This is an old cover talking about Earth X. We finished watching the Crossover last night. I’m in the middle of data updates for Collingwood Ontario.

I know that the change in diet is having an effect, but is it more effective than the normal low-in-refined-carbohydrates approach.

I assure you I feel just as mentally distressed with no beef/no chicken/no coffee as I did with. Dieting is a fun a stapling your left butt cheek to a moving car. Nothing new there.

If I had to guess, I’m still having withdrawal headaches from the three excluded foods.

Time to focus. I suck at it. But tomorrow sometime I release the annual Christmas Story, which is originally what this site was all about!

Firestorm is a character in the TV shows. He’s being attacked by evil toys. Seems appropriate for this time of year.
I just updated the Coburg page.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 17
I have anecdotal evidence that coffee as an appetite suppressant is a thing. Yesterday I had my normal routine of bacon and eggs and then had a 10:30 snack attack. I haven’t been hungry at that time of day in years. I tried to ignore it but as I came closer to my personal trainer appointment, I realized I was not going to make it. So I picked up a handful of chocolate almonds, which helped with the hunger and the headache.

I have slight coffee depravation symptoms at the temples and have boring peanuts ready in case of another snack attack.

The chiropractor literally shoved my SI joint back into place and the lower back is much better but I am watching. Always watching.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 16

We watched the Supergirl and other shows’ crossover. It’s a long way before I get to Kingston Ontario.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 16
A few tortilla chips are in the way of calling yesterday a 100% on plan. The bison steak tasted great and I managed to have zero coffee. I also dodged the 2 PM snack attack. BTW, just because I’m anticipating a coffee withdrawal headache does not mean I won’t be disappointed if I don’t have one.

The key issue right now is the hip area that is trying to screw up the SI joint. I did have a massage therapy session that alleviated some of it.

Today I see the personal trainer and the chiropractor. Dieting is hard enough without above average physical discomfort, bordering on pain.

I was watching Daredevil in Netflix and I’m undecided on the season 2. Campbellford Ontario is next on my list.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 15
A 3-day cheat day is now officially over. I have cooked bison ready for lunch. Salads are in the fridge. And I have switched to tea.

The purpose of the experiment is to see what will happen to my body chemistry by removing chicken, beef and coffee until this coming Sunday. I have Tylenol ready as I am expecting headaches. The reason for excluding coffee is because, in 1995, an allergist tested me and I had reactions to coffee, beef and chicken. I asked about decaf and he said, that it’s the actual coffee beans to which one becomes addicted and allergic.

So, here we go. I need to try something different in order to make this tedious process more interesting.

The big, big challenge will be the 2 PM snack attack.

    Wish me luck.

The Black Panther character appeared first in The Fantastic Four comic. Did you know there’s a town in Ontario named Carp?

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 14
This isn’t going well. I’m feeling better today but the right hip area is being very unhelpful. Annoying, because on Thursday I was noticing an improvement. The diet is off kilter and I am battling an intense urge to pound the crap out of myself. However, the new rules for self management is that negativity is rarely helpful and a small amount of self compassion with a lot of compassion for others is the path to improved mental state.

I sound like a new age advertisement.

Deep breathing and trying not to think about the weather too much will help.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 13

Final Justice League image. I saw the movie and liked it. I wish the bad guy had been a stronger character. My data review in Ontario led me to Buckhorn!

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 13
I’m not sure how Fridays became my cheat days but that’s what happened.

I’m going to do a bison/lamb experiment as there was no turkeys when I went to Costco so I didn’t have time to go elsewhere so next week becomes the no beef, no chicken (except eggs) and no coffee.

Today has been a problem already with a big ass headache in the AM and only a scone (another cheat) so far (1:30 PM).

I am not feeling compassionate toward myself because I’m just not. Minimum standards are minimum standards.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 12

Today is Justice League Day. This image from a 10 cent comic book. I was updating records in Brockville Ontario. Looks like some cool places to stay.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 12
I guess today turns out to be a cheat day again. This time it’s primarily due to lack of supplies. I was however happy to receive the bison steaks and look forward to seeing how that goes. A shopping trip is planned so I should be on track again by Sunday. I just have to be restrained.

Given the variety of pressures – nothing that anyone one wouldn’t consider normal – I am finding my brain is not helping. Serious things are too serious and silly things aren’t funny enough.

    I read this article

    www.bbc.com/future/story/20141015-concentrate-how-to-focus-better

    This section caught my attention.

“So how can we take control of a wandering mind for a happier and more productive life? Step one is to work out what is causing the wandering in the first place. According to psychologist Tim Pychyl of Carleton University in Canada, and author of the book Solving the Procrastination Puzzle, procrastination is largely an emotional problem – a psychological coping mechanism that kicks in during times of stress.”

So, how do I focus on my diet, work, family, volunteer work and side job without causing stress? [Oh look an article about Uma Thurman …]

    Oops.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 11

I hope to see Justice League on Friday. Tell me nothing.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 11
I have a diet tip that’s so obvious I’m embarrassed to mention it. Don’t run out of diet food supplies.

I thought I had enough, but my salads, bacon, chicken and beef are done. A trip to the food court, especially on ultra-low “keto” style diet is like sending chocoholic into Chocolate Arts. Imagine going into a store like Purdy’s Chocolates and saying, “Is there anything here without sugar or chocolate?”

Hopefully by the weekend the bison/turkey/tea experiment will begin. In the meantime it’s dodge the carbs time.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 10

I found this cool image while looking for something else. I was updating records in Blind River Ontario yesterday.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 10
Rain, rain go away. I also have daily befuddlements. For example, I worked with the trainer yesterday and it was really cool to be able to do abdominal exercises that had been previously unavailable (for almost 2 years) due to the hernia.

The only thing I can’t do is twists that involve the leg squishing the middle area. That’s still off limits.

But I was sore and when I got home I did all my usual stuff and, before bed, tried for a single set up push-ups. I was unexpectedly at 30 push-ups when I stopped. WTF? Prior max was a painful 25.

I ordered bison steaks from Costco yesterday. We shall see what a switch from beef and chicken to bison and turkey will do to my system.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 9

Deadpool comics vary from whimsical to ultra violent. Bob Ross could have got inspiration from Ucluelet.

Mutant Diet Phase 5 Day 9
If you don’t want to listen to someone whine, go watch the Deadpool 2 teaser that’s super funny. Especially if you’ve ever watched Bob Ross. www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FvFjyAwHxI

So in the span of about 11 seconds at the gym yesterday, I swung from thinking I was making progress with my diet/fitness program to wondering if I was soon to be harpooned, killed and used to feed and light a small 19th century fishing village for several months.

You can say body image is a problem.

I forced myself to walk home because I felt I needed to push through it (whatever the leaking Jesus “it” is) and make my body work. This led to lying down on the couch, passing out for 30 minutes and having a nightmare about water leaks in a basement I never owned.

Today I see the personal trainer. My muscles are still sore and the right hip is being a total pain in the ass. At least I have the anger energy to do a personal trainer session.
