Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 11

The most powerful? Ottawa has to truly deal with race.

Another thing that doesn’t help one’s diet is the presence of housing issues. I.e. a Telco drilling through a heating pipe and people putting up scaffolding and knocking holes in interior suite walls.

Stress comes in many forms. Calling plumbers is one.

I also have to change trainers at the end of the month again. Most unsatisfying. Maybe time to change gyms?

Carnage, Venom and Spider-man. Sounds like my day. Edmonton looking at monitoring oil sands pollution. Duh.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 10
I ask you. The day started out OK, then derailed. The gym was OK, but I realized that I really don’t have a steady personal trainer and therefore don’t have weigh-in dates. Even though I don’t like the process and I regularly postpone looking at the numbers, the weigh-in dates are points in time that focus my mind.

Right now I face 71 days of endless effort without being able to mark progress or test skills.

    That won’t work.

Flash and classic bad guys. Rain rain go away in Vancouver.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 9
Important tip. Diet/fitness plans don’t survive funerals. Even when you are basically the slightly emotionally involved driver of the soloist.

Classic reset strategy. Stick to the essentials. Try not to be distracted by the next strangeness.

The plan is the gym and get back to seeing if I can move some heavy objects. Still no word from my trainer.

Boris Johnson is no Hulk. A shooting in Mississauga is disturbing.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 8
Sunday turned into a cheat day. Oddly I had a solid protein/vegetable lunch and within minutes I was starving. I asked the body to sod off because I’d just eaten, but as I was running errands, I gave up.

It’s was strange. Then we went out for dinner and I threw in the towel.

Back at it today, however. But, there’s a funeral for a friend of my wife’s. More of a celebration of life but at a minimum it will disrupt the schedule.

We move forward because the other options are not so fun.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 7

Some days you just need Spider-man and She-Hulk.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 7
By the time I shuttle people to where they are supposed to be on Sunday morning, I have about an hour to do something useful. Due to my laptop battery crapping out, it requires a wi-fi and a power outlet. The Starbucks in Dundarave, West Vancouver has network problems. Argh.

Yesterday was weird. Solidly strict until I started starving in a food court at about 2:30. Then a good by party at a friend’s and then home, where I ate a pile of salad. I am still sore from Friday’s workout, which will make a 75 minute yoga class all the more interesting.

Now to tether my laptop to my phone. I hate using data.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 6

I needed Spider-man and Dr. Strange today. The weather is better in Halifax today.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 6
Super sore from yesterday’s high intensity workout. As far as I can tell it was last June I even tried it. I lost 10 swings of the kettlebell. Strangely my legs are the most whiney after the workout. The workout involves 3 groups of two exercises done three times each. Kettlebell burpees (75 lb per side), mountain climbers, steps ups, overhead ball slams, walk out planks, kettle bell swings.

Today I recuperate with a soggy Saturday full of chores and errands.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 5

I discovered this Golden Age image. Leaders are campaigning in Toronto.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 5
Yesterday was super stressful (internal job interview and other fun). Chocolate and alcohol were required.

Despite this, I’m noticing positive change. Due to a reduction in cycling I’m committed to doing the whole high intensity workout today. I haven’t done that in ages.

I need to stay with this because there seems to be some momentum from previous phases. It would be really nice to have progress. The years in a plateau were horrible.

  • Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 4

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 4

I’m looking forward to the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover this year. Ottawa‘s halls of power empty until after Oct 21. Vote like your life depended on it.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 4
I think I’m on track despite a work social. I was tempted by beer, refrained and chose (for me anyway) the lesser evil of red wine. It tasted like I hadn’t had anything in ages, which was not true. It was less than a week. Odd.

I figure that if I’m a bit hungry or craving food before bed, I’m still in the range.

I’m beginning to suspect my new-ish behaviour of shutting off the food and beverage service at around 8 PM is more important than I suspect.

  • Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 3

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 3

A crossover not allowed by current rights. With all the madness in the UK, I’m surprised they aren’t moving to London Ontario.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 3
Day 3. It’s interesting that my body feels like it’s returned to diet mode right away. (This despite the chocolate almond crisis that occurred at 2:30 yesterday.) I think I may have retrained it. I conclude this because I’ve been in a “Phase” of the Mutant Diet since January for more days than I haven’t.

Patience. No matter what I do, real results won’t show up for a few weeks.

  • Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 2

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 2

The super hero shows are starting up soon. My PVR better not break this year.  Election Day in Manitoba.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 2
Day 1 was in the boundaries of acceptable for the plan. This may seem odd but I think I may have trained my body to have the “diet” part of this diet/fitness process as the normal part. As I slid back into bad habits last week, my innards complained. My digestion returned to a happier place very quickly yesterday.

I actually now have no idea if I have a personal trainer. The fellow I was working with was on vacation and I haven’t heard. I may try to save money and do without for a while.

I got caught in the rain cycling yesterday in a downpour. Soaked right through.
