Lots of speculation about Flash this year. Calgary. Snow.

According to this article, willpower isn’t the problem.

However, without willpower, I don’t think you stand a chance in making a correction.

Yesterday my willpower ran away into a crowd of thoughts and let impulses (and a late in the day invitation to karaoke) put yesterday’s efforts into a hole.

And so we start again. What temptations face me today?

She-Hulk. I’m trying to figure out what comics of hers are most collectible. Ed the Sock of Toronto is battling with the Conservative Party of Canada.

Well, I almost got Friday right. Ugh.

The high intensity workout yesterday was, well, intense. But, I got through the night without acetaminophen or anything so that’s a pulse.

Today is a kind of chores/rest day. Including taking a car in for three lights that had burned out. I need to try not to weaken in the next couple of hours in the chocolate department. Urgh.

I was looking for something else and found this cool X-Men image. Climate strikes all over today. Try St. John’s.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 19
Yeah. Not so much in the snack control department.

My goal for today is to stick to plan. To react less aggressively to stress and other annoyances. And to hope that it doesn’t pour rain when I ride my bike home tonight.

I am glad for all the discussion going on with respect to the climate strike.

Proud of everyone. Except one federal leader who isn’t going because he has a pea for a brain.

Justice League versus Slade and Dr. Light. Climate strikes tomorrow in Vancouver and Victoria.

So hockey games are bad for the diet. Wow. Worse I was expecting only bad beer but they had some good craft brews.

    Sigh.

I have a trainer lined up for next Tuesday. Let’s hope this focuses the mind better.

I did 200 pound deadlifts today. It’ll be interesting to see how far I can take it.

I was feeling like early Justice League. You can’t be too careful on the water in The Muskokas.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 17
It’s 8 AM. Do you know where your chocolate is?

The mental weakness around diet continues. Most annoying. I do seem to have broken a weight lifting plateau. I suspect the new plateau will soon make itself known.

Today I have to meet my son’s teacher and go to a Canucks game. These are not really related.

I needed Wolverine today. With all the crazy sh*t in the news, I needed a stupid story. Prince George BC and a stolen mascot costume

As I write this I’m eating stuff not on the plan. It’s been an emotional week and the eating has been indicative of that. And yes, like any good white guy, I am not talking about it.

Not relevant to diet/fitness, I realized that old white men have had little training in how to deal with things like sadness and disappointment. Walk it off. Suck it up. Better luck next time. Perhaps listen to some death metal.

At least the weather cleared for riding and with the new brake pads, my bike sounds wonderful.

I needed a fight scene today. One party leader today is in Bathurst NB

I am trying to re-engage my diet/fitness program while sitting beside leftover donuts from a meeting I held. Fortunately I bought donuts that are insufficiently compelling.

What next? I have food supplies. I have time to go to the gym. I want to go home to bed.

When do we see results? What does that even mean? When does this end? How long is a piece of string? If I fuss enough do I get what I want?

Not sure what’s happening here; Batman looks alternative reality to me. Apparently there are about 17,000 feral cats in Toronto.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 14
I admit. Train wreck yesterday. Today I must calm my mind and try for cleaner food. I have to cook a lot of food for next week. That’ll keep me focused. Hopefully.

I’m feeling less totally ache-y. I hope to live through tonight’s yoga class.

By the way, if you find pizza counterattacks after eating, try those lactaid pills. They do seem to act as a buffer.

I just finished preparing food for the week. It helps make me feel more focused.

Black Knight and Dr. Strange. I wonder if anything odd is happening in Winnipeg. Oh yeah. Flooding.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 13
I write from a place of calories. And post workout pain.

Yesterday at the gym I was scheduled for the high intensity workout. I had discomfort and resistance from the Thursday weights workout. I took on the kettlebell burpees with modest expectations and then proceeded to complete the full workout. Then I rode a rental bike home because they had not finished with the repairs on my regular bike.

I was sore for the rest of today and into today. No workout today. We’ll see what yoga holds tomorrow.

However, my sweet tooth is out of control.

Tomorrow I must gently pound it into submission.

Justice Society. Controversy in Saskachewan over football and beef.

Mutant Diet Phase 11 Day 12
It was another strangely stressful day with lots of stupid repair stuff happening around our building. I ate off plan but was starving all day regardless. Most peculiar. I also feel like the clothes are loosening. I am still at the gym and yoga regularly, but cycling is less. I took the bike in for maintenance because the gears were slipping and the brakes were screaming loud enough to wake the dead. During my weights workout yesterday, I did bench press last and pushed past a plateau by 2.5 pounds per side. I wasn’t expecting that.

Advice to self. Progress is progress. Giving up is not progress.
