Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 77

Supergirl and Powergirl are kind of the same person from different universes. This image is interesting because Powergirl isn’t as sexy as normal. Burlington? Is that a sexy town?

I put this into a search engine this morning. “how many calories do you lose when you donate blood”. I was kind of expecting to be told, “don’t be an idiot,” but in the end the first result said 650.

I think the muffin I bought to reward myself for being so brave (again for like the 30th time) evens it out.

However, due to time loss and the fact they say don’t do any heavy lifting, I won’t be going to the gym today.

Wonder Girl, Green Lantern and I’m not sure. On the list: Charlottetown.

Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 76
OK. That was weird. I had a weekend with some definite use of recreational carbohydrates and I was feeling pretty much like the process was ending. Then I went to the gym today and did a killer high intensity workout. I did the full thing (See https://robertfordfiction.com/mutant-diet-phase-6-day-45/) and had some gas left in my tank.

Not normal. I also am up a level in kettle bell weight from that post. Usually I’m sitting on the bench in the change room imitating a panting fat dog. So what gives? I did yoga last night, which was fairly challenging. And it’s not like I had a ton of extra rest on the weekend.

So as I wind down this phase, I guess I have to follow the direction it wants to go. As nuts as it seems.

Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 75
Two weeks from now Phase 7 will be done. I’ll be travelling. Weird. I feel like I barely got going.

It’s an odd week when you think you haven’t done much working out, but the moment you touch your bicycle to ride to work, your muscles tell you otherwise.

Of course, I went to the gym just now. Now I really feel it.

Mentally, I’m tired of the focus on food and exercise. The only practical option is to not think and try to stick to it without stressing out over the diet/fitness regime.

Apparently this is a party at Tony Stark’s place. Has anyone really partied on Galiano Island

Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 74
I was faced with a drink ticket dilemma. The better choice would have been wine, assuming I had to have alcohol. I arrived at the work party venue and am faced with a literal wall of micro brewery choices.

    Beer it was.

Today is back on track and despite the deviation I don’t feel like I deviated. Most peculiar.

The fatigue issue is real as I’ve had to work late and work early to catch up from previous distractions. Now I have to double watch my outward grumpiness and my food choices.

If you see a hostage-taking on the news and the demands are for cake, it might be someone you know.

Nice mash up image. Let’s try visiting Saint Andrews by the Sea

Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 73
I was stricter yesterday. I had a big dinner and there was a dance studio final show we had to attend. We were home by 9 PM and I was ravenous. Not just mildly hungry, but you’re-in-the-way-of-my-food-I’m-going-to-pull-your-arm-off-hungry.

Today’s a rain day and I did not ride, which is good because the muscles on my right knee over the kneecap are not happy with stairs or the starting-from-a-stop part of riding.

We are not at home to Mr. Injury.

I have two free drink tickets for a company event. Sigh. I guess it’ll have to be wine. And no, I’m not giving away my drink tickets. Sheesh, what a thought.

We get to see Thor and Captain Marvel in the next Avengers movies. I wonder if Picton still has that cute movie theatre.

Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 72
Well, at least I managed to document what I ate yesterday. There is room for improvement, but at least I’m on track.

I had an early morning personal trainer session. I don’t recommend jumping off your bike and then heading to the gym for that kind of intensity.

A lot of negative feedback coming from the inside chatter today. The brain does not seem to listen to the simple fact that beating me up doesn’t do anything useful.

These are Ultimates Avengers. Dawson Creek and Mile 0 of the Alaska Highway. Go there for fun.

Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 71
Dinner at my friend’s place was really good. However, I won’t dwell on my dietary sins.

Back on the wagon. The usual protein for breakfast. Small snack at 10:30. Plan for a clean lunch. It’s all happening.

Does this ever end? Not really. Assuming one day I reach a stable size and shape that I can live with, I will then have to figure out what minor indulgences are allowed and then be permanently on whatever diet will work. As for fitness, it will be a forever thing where I always try to get stronger, more flexible and better cardio.

Can I go back to bed now?

  • Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 70

Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 70

I wonder if they’ll ever get the Fantastic Four right in movies? I wonder if Niagara Falls is still wet.

Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 70
Today the plan is to have dinner at a friend’s so indulgence will happen. Refocusing on Monday will be required. Lack of beating myself up is on the agenda.

Sleep is tough. I was examining my own attitude and you’ll notice in action hero movies and literature that the protagonists are tough characters who can function without sleep and drinking lots. I think this may have permeated into the general attitude.

It’s tough to argue that you can be more fit and more alert and without rest. You can argue the amount all you want but, if you don’t feel rested and you’re grumpy and having trouble focusing, what is the answer?

This is a part of one old comic book cover! Alert Bay in on the list of out of the what BC locations I want to see.

Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 69
I wasn’t expecting this phase to turn into a nightmare. The challenge I set myself for 2500 calories and ultra low carb is not holding. It seems the moment I have the devil’s combo of fatigue and emotional distress – which can be as irrelevant as a disturbing news story – I hit the carbs like a squirrel to nuts.

The paragraph above was interrupted by a child mini crisis and a nap. As I have a few moments of rest in my head, I can feel the difference. It may not stop me from screwing up the diet more today, but the rest makes me feel less bad about it.

Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 68

I needed a heroic Justice League image. Last week I stayed at The Pinnacle in North Vancouver.

Mutant Diet Phase 7 Day 68
People I know in Ontario are having some nausea issues today.

In this context, I’m also seeing extreme responses to things that are different than people want to see them. In the diet/fitness context people are so married to their diet regime they can’t accept that someone else might have results with something else. This behaviour tends to lead to lashing out.

For example, let’s say someone was successful with a low fat diet and I think that low fat diets are mental. I might ask questions like “what exactly were you eating and how much?” but after that, what value is my opinion? Not much, frankly.
