Spider people. Wildfire in High Level Alberta. Be careful.

Today will be a notable exception from doing fitness, but it may be a good idea because yoga class was painful due to the right hip flexor, SI joint and related bastard parts of my body. What I did discover is the that right quad and hamstrings were totally locked up. Super Max prison locked up.

And now it’s time to plan for resetting starting tomorrow. Birthday celebrations and long weekend indulgences are nearly done. It’s a rainy day and the plants are soaking it up. It was a sunny crazy busy day at Kits Beach yesterday. My son and I took our first bike ride together. It was a bit nuts on the bike path for a young guy getting his legs back.

I can only dream of this cinema team-up. I chose it in honour of seeing Detective Pikachu. I want to escape from it all in Charlottetown.

I’m writing this so as to at least document why I’m going to show a weight gain next week.

It also won’t let me forget that I managed to get to the gym despite aches, pains and foods with a high glycemic index.

Plus, it’s my son’s birthday and there’s a whopper of a chocolate cheesecake in the fridge.

The Flash TV show had its season closer. I found this image which confuses me. I was happy to learn about outing a grumpy bastard in the Niagara Region over the amber alert process.

Mutant Diet Phase 10 Day 47
O boy. Here comes a really big cheat weekend. It’s my son’s birthday and Mom and Sister are away and we’re being bachelors.

The plan is to have some fun, not go too crazy, and not beat myself up too badly when things go wrong. I did manage to get to the gym because my son had extra dance classes today. I have membership access to gym one flight of stairs from where he dances. No real excuse.

And I slept in a little this morning. But I still feel sluggish. I did go to Mark’s to buy clothes. I left with a belt and two pairs of pants on order because of size colour issues. I am definitely down a size, which is nice. Unfortunately, just going into a clothing store is stressful and trying clothes on is a close second to being weighed in terms of activating childhood trauma.

Sigh. And another thing, why do they put the big boy sizes on the bottom of the pile near the floor when clearly the size 28 weasels are shorties and could reach the bottom much easier?

Batwoman is coming in Fall. She won’t look like this early incarnation. I want Ottawa to stop screwing around on climate change.

Mutant Diet Phase 10 Day 46
Well. In the department of not going according to plan …

    1. Don’t ride your bike home (9 km) really fast, right after lunch, because you’re in a hurry.
    2. Don’t forget to bring food with you or you’ll eat the most disgusting pizza pretzel ever at the Surrey Arts Centre café.
    3. Don’t forget that after a ballet competition your dancer will be stupid hungry and so will you and in Surrey there will only be fast food joints.
    4. The child and parent who makes snacks for your Parent Advisory Council meeting is really good at the craft of snacks.

A speech by Dreamer — now played by a trans woman — on Supergirl made me teary. Time to visit Saskatoon.

I do enjoy confusing my personal trainer. I lost 1.6 pounds and am getting stronger. My standing deadlifts are at 150 pounds as is my bench press. That 130 pound plateau has passed.

My mind wants a steady 2 pounds a week and the average is dropping below that rate. But I realize that were I able to stick to the strict 2000 calorie per day limit, I might be able to keep that 2 pound a week rate. That would mean no cheats. The strain of that can’t be ignored.

One thing that’s odd was how hungry I was yesterday after the trainer workout. My normal 450 calorie lunch felt like it bypassed digestion and went right into my body. I was super sore muscle-wise and had a few too many chocolate almonds at the snack time. But I was hungry by dinner and hungry before bed, which I tried to ignore.

At least I have a process that seems to work. While I struggle with the details I have to keep that in mind.

Interesting team shot. No idea of context. The Prime Minister and the President of Croatia are in Hamilton. I’m not sure why.

It’s official. I am obsessed with what the scale will show when I know such thinking leads to madness and sorrow. So, let’s think about how to manage the day so that when the long weekend comes, along with my son’s birthday, I don’t derail the whole process.

The difficulty of mastering one’s own thinking is directly proportional to the hunger and fatigue one feels at any given moment.

All challenging moments … can they be tackled with dignity and creativity? I can certainly try.

I have this one. It started a controversial arc about cloning. Edmonton. Is it real?

Mutant Diet Phase 10 Day 43
The weekend may again challenge tomorrow’s weigh-in. It was Mother’s Day and I took the family to a Pizza place that is too good to resist. After the Saturday evening blow out, I was strict during the day but weakened at Rocky Mountain Flatbread.

We shall see how this plays out.

I also did not fitness for two days which I think might have been a good thing as I was super sore from last week. I was on the bike this morning with a heavy load and it wasn’t as bad as Friday’s ride.

Spider-man from the Civil War comics. I’m in Surrey, BC watching a dance competition.

Mutant Diet Phase 10 Day 42
Whoa. I missed blogging yesterday due to a busy schedule. I’ve tried to catch up. The first week back at cycling was exhausting. Also due to schedules, I’m unable to do any of my normal weekend workouts or yoga. It’s probably a good thing. My right hip and SI joint were so hosed that I had to roll them out with the hollow core metal roller. Ouch, but it worked.

I had a blow out after the big Vancouver Bach Children’s Choir concert. But today is on track even if low key.

Hopefully by tomorrow I’ll feel less pooped.

Here’s a different version of the Avengers. Apparently in British Columbia, there was $5.3 billion in money laundering.

Mutant Diet Phase 10 Day 40
I am a little surprised this is day 40. I feel like this phase just started.

I think the bicycle riding messed with the hunger triggers. Yesterday I was starving at key moments and ended up having lunch at 11 AM. I was badly mental/hangry by 2:30 and took in chocolate. However, the chocolate I bought is highly addictive. I carefully calculated a simple amount and the rest is still sitting in my desk drawer. And, strangely, it is not sending out the normal siren song.

I am planning for the weekend. I was a modest cheat. I’m curious as to how this past week with cycling will show on the scale. If at all. I still think there’s a non-thermodynamics connection with diet and fat usage/storage.

Spider-man and Spider Woman. I really want the spider women to come to live action films. Some kid named Archie was born and may live in Windsor? Huh?

Mutant Diet Phase 10 Day 39
Yesterday I thought I’d derailed due to sushi at lunch, but the numbers don’t support it.

Pain causes hunger. The cycling has made me achy and that enhances my cravings. I had a 6 PM meeting so I pre-ate and I felt that should have kept me covered. But I was dying by 8 PM and ate more.

I have some good news. My doctor is happy with my blood pressure numbers and the fact I’ve made progress on weight. I still have blood pressure meds because the trick with high blood pressure is that it’s not observable without measuring. My concern is now going too low, but that bottom number is one of top or bottom number dropping below 100 and 60 respectively. In my 20s I was 110/70 and I’ve not seen that in ages.
