    Mutant Diet Phase 2 Finale

This is where Spider-man is injured during an X-Men vs Avengers series. Kind of like how I feel. And it’s still frigging raining in Vancouver.

Well the results are in and I can’t say I’m happy but I can say I’m not giving up.

The image of a year’s work is below. Who knew this would be this hard. I sure didn’t.

The simplistic stats are also below.

And yes, the personal trainer did not change her height and dye her hair. I can’t thank Mary and Victoria enough for putting up with me. Jerry the meat chef also was a huge help.

Phase 3 starts April 3. I’m hoping for some weather that will allow me to ride will appear!

Mutant Diet Phase 2 Day 78

More from the DC Convergence series I want to read. We had two days of spring in Vancouver and now it’s back to winter.

Mutant Diet Phase 2 Day 78
I’m feeling a bit absurd because today because technically yesterday was the end of Phase 2. But I don’t have a trainer session or weigh in until tomorrow.

I conclude therefore that there are 78 days in Phase 2, not 77.

I’ve planned Phase 3 to run from April 3 to Friday June 23, which is one day after a scheduled appointment with a different abdominal surgeon. Yes, I still have a hernia which I’ve been supporting by continuing my growth of ab muscles. I can even do a dolphin plank (no high pitched squealing required) which, when I first was dealing with the hernia back in July, was not an option.

But I’m stuck with a mystery of having to be at a “stable” weight before the repair can happen. Not to be rude or anything, but what the f__k does that mean? My weight is absurdly stable in the face of diet and exercise. Time for a second opinion.

I was trying to figure out the DC timelines and I discovered a convergence series that crosses over with some comics I have from the 80s.

Mutant Diet Phase 2 Day 77
Wow. I’m in West Vancouver right now and it’s pouring. Yesterday was a good enough day to go for a walk by the beach and now … swampland.

Honestly, I’m trying to stay on track but I’m not feeling energetic. I am totally supplied with the right food to carry on starting fresh on April 3. But it’s going to be an endurance race. I feel like the tortoise.

No matter. Yoga tonight. Gym tomorrow. Weigh in and photo Tuesday. The official comparison photo is here.

Mutant Diet Phase 2 Day 76

I was looking for a Dr. Doom image and found this one that made me smile. Finally cherry blossoms in Vancouver.

Mutant Diet Phase 2 Day 76
Last night I shopped for the usual food products despite the end of Phase 2 approaching. It’s the time in this protracted process where I feel obliged to look for modifications, improvements.

    Initial thoughts?

Removal of alcohol had limited impact. This isn’t an admission that putting it back in is such a great idea but many people cited that ditching the booze had a huge impact. Moderate at best for me.

Approaching nearly zero carbs did start the process of breaking down the lard around the middle.

What would be nice in this next phase, and something to which I’m actually looking forward, is the re-addition of riding and more walking. The weather this Phase was so wretched that I logged zero km on the bike.

Justice League Rebirth image. I still don’t know what’s going on.

Mutant Diet Phase 2 Day 75
My muscles are sore from yesterday’s personal trainer session. It was a good workout even though I was pushing through allergies. I want the trees to just get it over with. Then I can forget about it for a while.

What I really want is for riding weather to come back. We’re still wet, cold, dreary in Vancouver.

Four days left to this phase. The real trick is controlling negative thoughts. They don’t help so they’re not wanted.

I have to shop tonight as I am out of all my food products. I don’t want to fall back on the bad habits like I did when I was in Toronto.

I started looking at the DC Rebirth Story line. Could be interesting given The Watchmen

Mutant Diet Phase 2 Day 74

Nothing like donuts to make you lose confidence. I’ll see the personal trainer but given my current eating and allergies, I’ll wait until next time to weigh in.

Five days until the end of this Phase. I have pick myself up from the mess of the last many days and try to stay with it. All kinds of factors are at play.

My next phase will run from April 3 to June 26.

I am not feeling like I’m winning but I won’t give up.

    There’s a Supergirl-Flash crossover happening on TV.

Mutant Diet Phase 2 Day 73
Welcome to pollen season in Vancouver. I just went to the local medical clinic to ask for a prescription for an effective eye drop.

Diet/fitness impact? Could be huge. I tend to hold water when in allergic reaction mode.

In six days I have a photo to take to mark a year since I started this effort. The numbers won’t show a year’s effort.

This is a pivotal moment in the context of attitude and mental health. The thing that keeps me going is the fact that the alternatives to pressing forward on the process is ill health. Sadly that’s a negative view. But ill health does not facilitate more time with family and friends.

If only my eyes would adapt to Spring.

Apparently there’s controversy that they may have CGI’d Gal Godot’s armpits in the upcoming Wonder Woman movie. Good grief.

Mutant Diet Phase 2 Day 72
From salt dust on the roads of Toronto to pollen in Vancouver. I’m anticipating a brutal spring pollen season because everything has been delayed and this means that all the pollens will come pounding out at the same time.

Historically for me pollen allergies lead to comfort food because you feel so miserable. However, in this case the opposite should happen. I should really try to evade all foods that I react to because in pollen season, I react more. Anyone with ragweed allergies knows that if in late August in eastern Ontario, if you go visit a friend’s house with cats, you will react to the cats more in August than in January.

But today it’s back to lo-carb world and the gym.

I found this DC group shot that I liked. I am saying au revoir to Toronto.

Mutant Diet Phase 2 Day 71
I’m in an airport and I’ve eaten badly. Send help.

I guess it’s a good sign that I want to get back into my regular routine. It’s been a mind trip but due to the slowing pace, I’ve managed to clear out a slew of fiddly items that have been filling up my inbox.

And now to board a plane.

I always like the super hero group shots.

Mutant Diet Phase 2 Day 70
To call dieting while travelling anything but cheating would be disingenuous.

My mother is addicted to CNN, which is obsessed with all things Trump. Only Amal Clooney managed to receive a few minutes airtime asking for prosecution of ISIS people for the many and varied atrocities in the Middle East.

Stupid Tweets. Massive Atrocities. I ask you.

Well, the Chinese food for lunch is soon arriving.

Speaking of food, check out this picture of hot chocolate at Chocolate Arts.
